Some of my pipe tunes
I haven't invested in any pipe music notation software, so these are just
scanned in. The resolution is high enough to read 'em, but low enough to
keep the .GIFs small (mostly under 15k each). I admit they look somewhat
poor. Please let me know what you
think of these tunes.
-
Jig: Eliot's Wooden Spoon. A 4 part jig I wrote for
my friend Eliot Wright when he was 1.5 and fond of a big wooden spoon as
a stroller toy.
-
Jig: The Ewe with the Crooked Smile. A tune
commemorating CSJPB side drummer Gus Holden's contention that he saw a sheep
wearing lipstick by the side of a Scottish road.
-
6/8 slow air: Mo Charaid
-
Scattered, Smothered & Covered: Reel, in honor
of the Waffle Houses of Kentucky and Tennessee
-
Chris & Julie Hit the Road: Reel. On the occasion
of the departure of my friends Chris Magwood and Julie Bowen from St. John's,
Nfld.
-
A Bulgarianish Tune: practise those C- and F-naturals
-
Gaes Reel: a reel using some material from Gaes (below),
or was it the other way around? Typeset in Lime, printed to a PS file, converted
to GIF (30K big) via GhostScript.
-
Bryn Myrddyn: 3/4 march, a very early attempt at tune
writing, inspired by a youthful enthusiasm for Mary Stewart's Arthurian novels.
-
My seconds for The Poison Dwarf & the Bush Reel
by Scott MacAuley.

Coming soon ...
-
Gaes: a longish (5 minute) composition for 2 GHBs. This has a dozen pages,
so it's a ZIP file, not a GIF.
-
Cleavage/Birth: a rather discordant piece for 2 GHBs from a "performance
art" work I did with my friend Catherine Wright.
