Student Sponsored Tutorial Speaker: Harlan Spence

Dr. Spence earned his Ph.D. in geophysics and space physics from the University of California at Los Angeles and is now a professor of astronomy at Boston University. Additionally, he is an executive committee member and co-director of the Center for Integrated Space Weather Modeling (CISM).
Harlan is author or co-author of over 90 peer-reviewed scientific journal publications and has received many accolades, including the Frank and Lynne Wisneski Award for Excellence in Teaching and three NASA Group Achievement Awards. He has a rich history with the GEM program, from steering committee member to working group chair person. His student sponsored tutorial talk is entitled "Radiation Belt Redux: Science Objectives of the RBSP Mission", and will be given during the Tuesday plenary session of this year's workshop.
