The Mata-Fink Laboratory, co-directed by Dr. David Fink and Dr. Marina Mata, is in the Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan School of Medicine and the affiliated Ann Arbor VA Healthcare System. The research focus of the laboratory is the use of modified Herpes Simplex Virus type I (HSV) based vectors for the treatment of neurological disorders. Studies with animal models of Parkinson's disease, motor nerve regeneration following peripheral neuropathy and models of chronic pain are all directed at the development of novel treatments for neurologic disease. For a more detailed examination of our research projects we invite you to visit our projects page.
