originally buried in Old Town cemetery, moved to Sugar Grove.
Rush died of sunstroke in his hayfield, bordering Henry Hoffheins' former property, at age 80.
Rush and Sarah are listed in the 1850 Canaan Twp Wayne Co census, age 25 and 21, respectively. Rush's occupation was carpenter. They lived next door to Sarah's parents Peter (64) and Mary (56) Feeman and their daughter (Rush's future wife) Matilda age 19. Both Peter and Mary were born PA, and Matilda was probably mistakenly listed as having been born PA also; Sarah was born OH. Next door to Peter and Mary is their son Charles Feeman and his family.
The 1870 census for Canaan Twp lists Rush Rees, 43, farmer, 16000 acres, born OH, wife Matilda, 39, 4 sons and 4 daughters between ages 2 and 18, and house servant Henry Burke, 26. The original census copy (image 13) is very dim.

Still residing in Kalamo Twp in 1880 acc to census; Coralla not listed.
Leah Showalter is on the IRS receipt for inheritance tax on Henry's estate 1-1-1866.
She is also listed as having bought two shoats from Henry's estate sale Aug 1864.The Leah Showalter whose obituary is printed in the Wooster Daily News May 3 1910 is *not* this Leah Showalter. The one who died in April of 1910 was never married, and probably the daughter of Joseph and Mary Showalter of Chester Twp, Wayne Co.
Wilson, age 30, was living with his parents in Kalamo Twp, Eaton Co MI in 1880.
A Wilson Showalter married in Henry County IN in 1884.
Francis Showalter, widower, age 68, listed in Barry Co MI, Castleton Twp census in 1880. May be an uncle.
Francis Showalter, born Aug 1851, listed in Kalamo Twp Eaton Co MI 1900 census, farmer, father born OH, mother born PA, with wife Laura, 52, and step-daughter Mae McKinnan, 33, dressmaker. The Elmer(?) McKinnan family lived next door, 30 yrs old, possibly Laura's son by previous marriage.
her tombstone at Kopp cemetery: daughter of J&L Showalter. Grandparents Henry & Elizabeth Hoffheins, aunts Mary Showalter, Elizabeth Feeman, perhaps another?, and Malinda Hoffines are resting to the right of her at Kopp/Kope
Sarah Jane, age 2, is listed in the 1860 Canaan twp census, but not in the 1870 Kalamo Twp, Eaton Co MI census, where the rest of the family resided.
