Since 1983, IMaGe
has hosted a Colloquium in Mathematical Geography which has met on a regular
basis to discuss topics of mutual interest among local people. Special
sessions are held on request when visitors with an interest in a topic
come to town and wish to meet. Some of the books in the Monograph
Series, and articles in Solstice, are the outcome of these meetings.

Websites reach around
the world. Early in the history of IMaGe, we had comments from a
sociologist in Tasmania noting how much she enjoyed easy access to online
materials at IMaGe (as opposed to her more arduous procedures involving
transoceanic shipments of printed materials). A bit later, a note
from a colleague in Latvia expressed appreciation for documents on the
website well-suited to his university activities. More recently,
a colleague in Belgium noted that he too found the IMaGe website a convenient
resource to which to refer those in search of clear graphics in support
of often difficult-to-visualize principles. A few recent comments
appear in this link.
