Map of Press Freedom

Link to world map of press freedom from Freedom House

This map indicates the extent of freedom of the press in each of the world's countries, as measured by such factors as government censorship, repressive laws, violent attacks on journalists, economic pressures, and other restrictions on the independence of journalists. It is posted on the Web site of Freedom House, a New York-based non-profit organization that promotes the spread of political and economic freedom around the world. Freedom House also issues an annual report on the state of press freedom, including an indication of trends toward improving or worsening of conditions in individual countries.
