Might and Magic 6        Posted by:  M. K.

Greetings All,
I've been somewhat engrossed with MM6 and am looking forward to MM7 coming out soon. I was wondering if any of you have played Might and Magic, as I'm somewhat stuck in one area. In the Castle of Darkmoor there is a book of liches that I can't find. I've searched everywhere I can and killed all the monsters that are visible, but I know I am not reaching the treasure I need to grab. With the 'wizard eye' spell I can see some treasure on the lower right side of the map that I cannot reach. Any ideas? Is there a map, somewhere online, that I could use as a reference? I've checked MM6 sites and have not yet found a map of Castle Darkmoor, everything else BUT it. (sigh) :-)  Thanks for any help or suggestions. Oh yes... anyone else playing computer RPG's? If so, what do you enjoy? More action or turned base or what?
Take care,
M.

Wow...I must say that you are the first person that has said that they play MM6. I have never really met anyone on-line that plays the Might and Magic series. I love playing RPGs and Might and Magic is no exception. MM7 has already come out if you were curious. It's kinda hard to explain to you how to get to the book of liches without knowing what you have done. Here's my question: Have you activated the three cubes yet? You need to activate cube 2 and from cube 2 you can teleport to that part of the map where you see the treasure. Hope this helps.
Good Luck,
S.

Dear S.,
Thank you so much for the suggestion to touch the cubes. I had activated two of them, but I thought I'd done all three, and I hadn't, obviously. When I went back, for the umpteenth time, and actually activated the last cube I got sent directly to the room where the book of the liches was. Wonderful!
As for MM6, I bought the game a couple of years ago and have played it off and on for a while. This is the third time replaying it because I get so far and then stop. I could keep going but I loose the trail of what I was doing so I just restarted again a couple of weeks ago. I don't get tons of time to play, because I'm a mom of a toddler, but I enjoy getting on now and then.  I originally bought the first Might and Magic for my Sega Genesis, oh so many years ago (chuckle). Bad graphics, but great RPG for that kind of system at the time. I didn't realize MM7 was out, but it makes sense. Can't afford it right now, but I'm sure I'll be able to play it soon enough.
Thank you again!
M.

I found the box with my old Commodore 64 in it and found with it an old copy of Might and Magic. Number 2 I think...

I recently picked up the Blade Runner game from a few years back and I play it once a week or so when I get tired of Everquest. The graphics and effects are phenominal! Especially 'ESPER,' the photo enhancer.

Blade Runner is realtime, as is Everquest. I think I prefer turn-based combat. Real-time can get a little more stressful, which is what I'm trying to relieve by playing the game in the first place!

Good luck with MM6!

Hi, M.! I'm hopelessly addicted to Heroes of Might & Magic III, although it's a turn-based game which I believe would be considered more of a strategy game than an RPG. Still, I do like the combat simulations, which have been getting better and better with each game: You have a much greater arsenal of spells and creatures to play with.....

Hi there M. (smile)
I have Heroes 2, but I have not yet played it. I got it as a gift, and my boyfriend had a ball with it, but I have not yet tried it. I think I'd probably enjoy it as I don't mind playing stuff like 'Populous', 'Civilization', etc. now and then. Unfortunatly games like that REALLY suck me in and I end up playing for hours and hours and that's no good. :-)  So strategy is okay with me. Maybe I should check out Heroes 3 too.
Sincerely,
M.

I am hopelessly addicted to Diablo. My boyfriend introduced me to this, and at first I didn't think that I would like it because Ithought that it would be gorey or whatever. It actually isn't. I love the graphics, and the gameplay is terrific. I got the expansion set for it and it added spells and another character. I am waiting and saving my money for when Diablo2 comes out.

A.
