EverQuest Player Guild        Posted by:  M. W.

While I liked EverQuest, I found myself somewhat annoyed by the amount of hack and slash and general lack of roleplay. Then I discovered the pluses to a player guild - you can custom-make a group that plays together in the manner you like. But when I looked at guild listings, I didn't find one I liked. Being the assertive sort, I decided to make my own. It is a guild for those who believe in roleplay over powergaming, on the Fennin Ro server. Members make a background and family history for their characters, and work in connections to the other characters (so we have built-in relations to each other and reasons to be together). There is a general emphasis on political roleplay similar to V:TM. Anyway, I thought what better place to recruit than this group of talented women roleplayers who are also somewhat computer savvy? If anyone is interested, drop me a line via email or degreemail and I can get you more info, or you can check us out at www.Playervault.com - we are guild # 95, by the name of Domus Sangreal (which happened to be a Camarilla chapter I started with, but somehow everyone liked it here, too). My profile is under the handle of Moontiger. And if you happen to play EQ on Fennin Ro, look for ilieriena or Kethryveris and give me a tell.

I haven't bought the game yet, but I am eventually going to. Currently, I play in a Diablo guild, which just recently branched off into the EQ game. A few of our members have taken a leave from Diablo to join our EQ branch, which I plan to do when I get the game.  Actually, I'll probably stay active in both. :o) It's a great group of people! They also play on the Fennin Ro Server. Come visit our EQ branch at http://www.forgottenorder.com. I'm sure they're just as interested in making friends in other guilds as our Diablo branch is. :o) By the way, if you play Diablo on battlenet, look my up. I go by the name of Varona(FO-K).

Hi I have ben looking in to everQuest for a while now and am trying to find a place to get some Info that the everquest site does not. Here is my question: Do you have to by a full year of EverQuest of is there a pay as you play way because I don't know If I'll like it or not and is that a half-year payment plan?

I looked into this also, because I plan on getting the game in the future. Here is what I found in the FAQ
section of the EQ website......

1.16 Will there be a monthly fee to play this game? And if so, how much?

At launch, we will have three pricing plans,

1 Month - $9.89
3 Months - $25.89
6 Months - $49.89
In addition, you will get a free month upon signing up.

Hope this helps. :o)

The payment plans H. listed are correct - I myself pay each month rather than in large blocks, as I also was not sure I would like it. I did get accidentally double-billed in May, but they did apologize and not bill me in June. Btw, you do have to have a credit card of some type (I use a check card) to play - unfortunately, one cannot pay by check.

I haven't started playing Everquest yet - I get my new computer the end of this month - but I know a lot of folks who do play. Something a friend told me is that the names of characters that are interested in roleplaying are displayed in purple. Adventurer's names are displayed in blue, PK's in red.  Look for the names in purple next time you're online; maybe it'll make a difference!

Roleplay Switch        Posted by:  M. W. in response to Untitled by M. K.

The only problem with this is that the roleplay switch (which makes your name purple) also makes you anonymous (no one can tell your level, class, or location when they search for you). It also means you cannot tell who is on in your guild. Several people do not like this aspect of the roleplay switch, and thus do not use it. Plus it means I have to actually see the character in front of me. =) But thanks anyway!
